Let me start with this new year’s first post with a very useful tip. Do you know how to send an email without sharing each other’s email address? I mean send a mail without sharing everybody’s email address with everybody. You might have seen emails with undisclosed recipients. It means you are not the only recipient of the mail and the sender wants to hide others’ addresses. Mail to multiple recipients without sharing each other email addresses is a simple trick.
Why it’s important? It’s important because of the following two things.
- If you are working with an organization and sending or forwarding mail to multiple customers or clients without hiding each other email addresses, it’s like sharing your business details with all. So you must take care of this.
- Second thing, though it’s not important, your mail will not look nice with the long list of email addresses in the “to” field.
Steps Involved: Mail to multiple recipients without sharing each other email address
Here are the tips to send or forward a mail to multiple recipients without revealing each other email addresses.
You may have seen the “blind carbon copy” feature that every email clients offer. Yep! I’m talking about “bcc“. To hide your recipients’ details just type all the email addresses in the “bcc” field instead of typing it in the “to” field.
In Gmail you can notify your recipients that the mail is also sent to multiple recipients, but without giving the email addresses. Just type “Undisclosed Recipients<your email address>” in the “to” field. Remember to remove the double quotes.
I’ve sent a mail to multiple recipients. See the screenshot below to know how a recipient sees the message. In the “BCC” field the recipient only sees his mail address and he can understand that the mail is also sent to many others from the “To” field message.
